Seneca Falls, NY is commonly known as the "Birthplace of Women's Rights". In 1848 a group of women lead by Elizabeth Cady Stanton held the Seneca Falls Convention. She also drew up the Declaration of Sentiments to express the inequalities of women in regards to their treatment by men. The Village of Seneca Falls become unincorporated after a referendum and is now only a hamlet.
