Serving the motorists on Jane Addams Memorial Tollway (I-90), formerly known as Northwest Tollway. Roughly the midway between Chicago and Madison, Wisconsin. Construction began on 1958-59 by the Wilton Partners. Standard Oil (Amoco) gas stations and Fred Harvey restaurant were the first companies in the oasis until the mid-1970's when a Howard Johnson hotel took over. The hotel closed in 1984, A fast-food chain for McDonald's and Amoco gas stations were replaced by Mobil. The oasis was re-developed in 2003-05 in order to make room for more fast-food chains.
