  • ujudgecyprus com Famagusta Gulf Viewpoint In the village of Drineia, 3km north of Agia Napa centre, you can look across the "Green Line" to the ghost town of Famagusta, a deserted no-man's-land ever since the Turkish occupation of 1974 Be aware that this site may have some disturbing and graphical images of the events of 1974.
  • Except that this one is in Kapparis, not Deryneia ;) http://www.kapparis.info/biz/viewpoint/index.html

  • Dear friends, in July 2008 I visited most of the "viewing point", I crossed many times the border, and I would say that Famagusta is NOT an ghost town. Famagusta is an extremely lively city, prosperous and fast growing. I experienced also, that the "Christian" places in the North - like cemeteries, churches etc. - are better in shape than a lot of Christian places in the South. A lot of things in the displays of the viewing points are (2008) not true anymore. The owners of the viewing points do their very best to keep tourists away from the North, however, it is extremely simple to got there, even with a hired car. No problem at all. Without any prejudice: Just go there, have a look, onto both sides. Listen to the problems of both sides, try to understand both sides and form your own opinion.
