Madhabpur Upazila (Habiganj district) with an area of 294.27 sq km, is bounded by Lakhai and Habiganj sadar upazilas on the north, Tripura State of India on the south, Chunarughat upazila and Tripura on the east, Brahmanbaria sadar and Nasirnagar upazilas on the west.

Madhabpur is located at 24.1028°N 91.2917°E. It has 44053 units of house hold. Madhabpur (Town) consists of 9 wards and 15 mahallas. The area of the town is 2.45 sq km. The town has a population of 17961; male 51.77%, female 48.23%; density of population is 7331 per sq km. Literacy rate among the town people is 57.5%. The town has one dakbungalow.
