The City of Anderson is home to the historic Fanthorp Inn, former home of Henry Fanthorp and a stop on the stagecoach route. This inn enjoys a rich past and boasts such overnight guests as Sam Houston, Anson Jones, Jefferson Davis, Ulysses S. Grant, Zachary Taylor, and Generals Robert E. Lee and Stonewall Jackson. The inn is now a museum and offers rides on an authentic replica of an 1850 Concord stagecoach.
