Canfor purchased the Canal Flats Sawmill from Tembec Inc. on November 28, 2011. Closed 2015. One of the highest producing saw mills in north america. Canal Flats is now turning into a resort area due to the Columbia Lake, but for years the people of this small community lived by means of the lumber industry.
