The present building was completed in 1908 atop the former Turkish baths. It was designed by Petko Momchilov and Friedrich Grünanger in a combination between Neo-Byzantine and Vienna Secession styles. The complex officially opened in 1913. The north wing of the building was damaged from bombing during the Second World War, but was rebuilt. The baths continued to function until 1986. The building was refurbished and since 2015 serves as the Sofia Regional Historical Museum.
