  • When you see picture No 2 & 3 above,a temple and a mosque (Old structure) are very closely built. Both these shrines are equally important for everyone with religious point of view. This is what is called secularism in reality. PIRSALUHI set the example of respect for other religions long time ago because those who look after temple and perform PUJA, also take care of the other structure by performing the necessary religious chores.
  • Picture No 4- water spring- The way we see it in the photograph, it was the same almost 100 years before because I found no change in it when I saw it about 65 years ago. The water of this spring has many qualities. It is full of minerals and very tasty. It has a tinge of holiness attached to it as well. The source is vast and the tank generally overflows to meet the requirements of the local school, hospital and village SALUHI below. People are now accustomed to use tap water which is easily available in the houses or nearby. BUT to drink water, people living nearby in THAPAL, PIR etc still carry cans and buckets of it for safe storage in their kitchens. In old days when there were no water supply schemes and in summers the sources of water would dry up, people from miles away used to come and carry water on mules from this spring which always over-flowed. The old understanding and rules to keep the environment around this pCHUSHMA in neat and clean condition have been given a go bye.These ought to be re-enforced.
