Casino Regina (former Union Station) (Regina)

Canada / Saskatchewan / Regina

The casino is located in the historic Union Station, which served as Regina's train station from 1912 until 1990. When passenger rail service to Regina was ended, the station set empty for several years and its fate was uncertain. The building was designated a heritage site in 1991. In 1996, Casino Regina opened after an extensive renovation and restoration to the station.

The rail station closed after January 15, 1990, which was the last day of service for 'The Canadian' which ran from Vancouver to Toronto.

The picture of the building is the original first half of the structure, an expansion was added on in the early 1900's.
