Povlen Mountain

Povlen is a mountain in western Serbia, which is located on thirty kilometers west of Valjevo. Consists of several peaks, of which three are most important: Small Povlen (1347 m), Middle Povlen (1301 m) and large Povlen (1271 m). Belongs venac Valjevo mountains are an extension and provide starovlaške Highlands west of Valjevo to flat Mačva. The chain of mountains begins Maljen, which relate to Povlen Jablanik and alongside Bobby and Medvednik, then Sokolska mountain, Jagodnja, Boranja and eventually Gucevo steep slopes towards Loznica.

Mountains are not very high - the highest point of the chain, Mali Povlen reaches 1347 meters - but hardly passable. Dense forests and deep river canyons reluctantly miss narrow twisting roads that lead to small and hidden under the forest hamlet. In the canyon Trešnjica Povlen settled griffon vulture which is, with Uvac River Canyon, the only reliable asylum in this country.
