Wakely is a junction on the Canadian National Railway. From this point the Tumbler Subdivision heads east to the coal mining area around Tumbler Ridge. The line opened on November 1, 1983 and was operated by the British Columbia Railway. BC Rail was acquired by Canadian National Railway in 2004, and continues to operate the line.
