Completed in 1918 for the extention of the IRT Ninth Ave El from its former northern terminus of 155th St-8th Ave to 167th St-River Ave where it joined the Woodlawn-Jerome Ave Line, the current number 4 train. Remained in service to shuttle passengers to the Polo Grounds until 1958.
