Winkelomheide, also called De Hei, is a village in the city of Geel, in the Belgian province of Antwerp. It is also the largest parish in the city of Geel. The Grote Nete runs to the west, the Albert Canal to the south.
Winkelomheide originated from the town of Winkelom, which is located on the Grote Nete. It is a reclamation village on a once barren area that was created as a result of the construction of the road from Geel to Diest. Originally it consisted of ribbon development along this road and in 1901 it became an independent parish.
