Blanerne Castle (ruins)

In the woodland to the south west of Blanerne House lie the ruins of Blanerne Castle, the original seat of the Lumsdaine family, dating back to the sixteenth century. The remains of the castle include one wing of a tower-house and the two storeyed building believed to have been the guard-house.
