Crystal Rig Phases 2 & 2a were both completed in September 2010 and consist of 60 Siemens SWT-2.3 turbines in total capable of producing 138 MW. This supplements the output capacity of the overall Crystal Rig wind farm to 200.5MW. Phases 2 and 2a have a dedicated grid substation to connect into the 400kV national grid transmission line which passes through the eastern side of this phase of the wind farm.
The original phase 1 and 1a comprised 25 Nordex N80 turbines (62.5MW).
A third phase of 9 or 18 turbines is currently (2011) being considered.
