  • In September 2011, we visited the site of the Second World War airfield at Kaldaðarnes. My father was stationed there in the summer of 1940. As a member of the Canadian Second Division Fusilers Mont Royal, he helped construct the runways before being shipped to England in October 1940. We have photos of the ruins.
