A fairly small airport with a fairly large runway. Various scheduled services are run by Highland Airways, Loganair and Eastern Airways to Inverness, Benbecula, Glasgow and Aberdeen amongst others. The Scottish Fisheries protection aircraft, also run by Highland Airways is another regular visitor.

Formerly a NATO fast jet base, most of the military legacies disappeared soon after the end of the Cold War.
