Key Royale is a bayfront barrier island between Anna Maria Island and the mainland in Manatee County, in the U.S. state of Florida. Key Royale is part of the incorporated area of the City of Holmes Beach.
The island was previously known as School Key, and was uninhabited until 1960, when a bridge was constructed allowing access from Anna Maria Island and paving the way for development of the island as a residential community.
