this is shiv mandir made in oldest century
and also a picnic point and very good water fall.......vishal khutwad
Baneshwar is just 35 kms to the south of Pune (take Nasrapur phata/diversion, it's 2-3 KM). This place can be enjoyed within a day. It is developing as a picnic spot having an old but beautiful temple of Lord Shiva. The temple is situated in dark woods - known as Ban (or Jungle) - and hence it is called as 'Baneshwar'. Though the temple is very simple, it is very pretty. The main entrance, light stand, Dharamshalas , 2 clean water tanks, a big bell are good to see. There are idols of Devi Laxmi , Lord Vishnu and Lord Mahadev in the temple.
There are five Shivlingas here in trench which can be easily seen with the help of light.

Behind the temple there is a garden and a small stream which adds to the beauty of the nature. Many people enjoy playing and swimming here.
Truly, Baneshwar is a place where you can enjoy with family and friends.

  • Its really nice spot for one day picnic, but i went their by mistakenly. but this place is like diamond in a coal mine. I really Enjoyed so much, but as i say i went their by mistaken i could not wait their more time, But definitely, when i feel to go on picnic i surely visit Baleshwar, Mr Khutwad/Walhekar, This place might not that much well know as its beauty.
  • Amazingly beautiful surroundings. Last time I was at the Baneshwar Mandir in the hot summer month of May, and the dense jungle surrounding the temple, and the beautiful garden provided the much needed relief from hot sun. After the darshan of Bhagwan Mahadev we had a picnic lunch in the garden. In the month holy month of Shravan thousands of Shiv Bhakts visit this temple for darshan and pooja. Many tourists also visit the waterfall near the temple. Baneshwar Mahadev Temple is hardly 30-40 minutes drive from Pune. You may also visit the famous Tirupati Balaji Temple at village Ketkawale which is just 15-20 minutes drive from Nasrapur. Said to be the exact replica of the original temple at Tirupati this is again a very beautiful temple. And if you are a fan of the divine prasad ladoos (I love these big ladoos :)) of Tirupati then you should not give this place a miss. During my last visit to Baneshwar I clicked some pictures at the temple, you may them at the link given below. http://travalok.blogspot.in/2010/09/baneshwar-shiva-temple-near-narsapur.html
