Location of the former terminus of the Long Island Rail Road's Whitestone Branch. The branch was built beginning in 1869, and Whitestone Landing station house was opened in 1886. It was also known as Beechurst Yacht Club Station. The Whitestone Shops (train storage and repair shops) were also here, just north of the station. Line was closed in 1932 due to lack of ridership.
