Baev Bridge Ensemble (Gabrovo)

Baev Bridge ensemble participation Gabrovians glorified in the April Uprising in 1876 and their contribution to the new Bulgarian secular education in 1835 from the sculptural compositions Apriltsi and Science and the figure of the wounded rebel, are the work of the creative team: Prof. Ilia Iliev, Dimitar Dimitrov, Boris Gondov. Baev old bridge, built of stone, is among the rare of that kind, located in an urban environment. This type of bridges are usually on highways. Built by Mincho Stoyanov in 1855, Baev Bridge belongs to the masterpieces of the Bulgarian national architecture. Declared a cultural monument, the bridge was restored in 1968 and since then only intended for pedestrians. Baev New Bridge dates from 1967 and took road flow.
