When St. Charles Towne Center opened in 1990, this was originally a Montgomery Ward. When Montgomery Ward closed in 2000, this store was left vacant for about a year, then was converted into Dicks Sporting Goods on the top floor, and Hecht's Home Store on the bottom floor. Then in September 2006, Hecht's Home Store became Macy's Home.
