Farmer, Texas is a small unincorporated community in northern Young County, Texas, located at the junction of FM 1769 and FM 2652.
The community was named after Rev. William H. Farmer, who settled in the area in 1877 and established the town's first general store and post office. The population peaked at 125 in 1892. In the early 1900's the Gulf, Texas and Western Railroad bypassed the town to the south, leading to Farmer's eventual decline.
