    No one shall any more call this place 'Ammancherry', a derogative name meaning Slum of Pulaya people. Those who didnt know this fact, try to understand the meaning of the word Ammancherry and the shame it brings on those living there. Let us stop using the name Ammancherry and instead use the name Amalagiri which means Pure Hill(which suits the place). Even the post office at the place is named Amalagiri and let that be the official name of our place. Those who could do their part in helping change the name for good please do it at their best. (Had they changed the branch name of SBT located near ICH and had BSNL mobile tower radiated the name Amalagiri instead of Ammancherry!!!)
