The U.S. Navy supply ship LST 563 stuck fast on a sandbar in 1944 and could not be freed. The vessel was abandoned after repeated attempts at removal. The image does not have enough resolution to verify if this is the ship, but it IS the most viable "thing" around the island that could be the ship.
