Founded in 1930, the Ibero-American Institute (IAI) serves as an interdisciplinary centre for academic and cultural exchanges between Germany and Latin America, the Caribbean, Spain and Portugal. Since 1962, the institute has been part of the Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation. It also hosts the largest European library specialized in the Ibero-American region. Combining the information, research and cultural centres, the IAI is both a platform for cooperation and a catalyst for intercultural exchanges.
