Mother Cabrini Shrine, located beyond the foot-hills of Golden, Colorado, was established in 1910 by Saint Frances Xavier Cabrini as a summer camp for orphan children.

Famous for its "miraculous" spring, the shrine also has exceptional views of the Denver area, and a 22 foot staute of Christ at the top of a 373-step stairway.

  • A lightning strike Saturday afternoon (May 19th, 2007) severely damaged a marble statue hundreds of people visit every Sunday. It appears the statue lost one hand a part of a foot. Sister Bernadette at the Mother Cabrini Shrine says the shrine does have insurance but she is not sure if it will be covered.
