Yeongdong Market — Yeongdong market is a famous traditional market in Suwon, started in 1917. lt is located near Paldalmun, the South Gate of Suwonseonggwak. About 20.000 people a day visit the market that specializes in the Hanbok (traditional Korean dress) and other dry goods.

Among the 300 some stores in the marketplace, 100 of them sell the traditional Korean dresses. There are shops that sell clothing, miscellaneous goods, and agricultural goods. At one time, not only people from Suwon came here to buy goods, but also from Pyeongtaek, Hwaseong, and Osan; it was the largest marketplace south of the capital area.

Beginning in 2007, facilities were revamped and upgraded as a part of a traditional market preservation and revitalization project.
