Itaewon Special Tourism Zone (Seoul)

Korea (South) / Soul / Seoul
 dining and leisure, marketplace, interesting place

This is a tourist district, so most of the people here either speak English or know how to gesture in an understandable way. The shopkeepers in Seoul often use calculators to show you the price. The Itaewon area is home to many international restaurants, as well as a diverse nightlife. The nightlife scene ranges from casual pubs and hole-in-the-wall bars to private clubs and late night pick-up spots.

A few tips:

* Walk, don't drive.
* The jewelry and the custom tailored suites and dress shirts are fabulous.
* The t-shirts are counterfeit branded and are poor quality.
* The Rolex watches are fake.
* The merchants are used to haggling. Feel free to offer a lower price, and don't be shy to shake your head and show a pained look on your face when they can't meet your price.

  • most everything in korea is fake. most all of the watches are fake. if it's a rolex or breitling and you are only paying 80 bucks, chances are its not real. Haggling here is the only way to shop. You will be paying way too much otherwise. Always walk, taxi if need be. Good food here too. Also, check out the hill....
  • niggas are everywhere the district selling drugs and picking up girls beware of niggas here they are as good as hell
