Like Long Mountain to the east, Ski World was Brown County's other failed attempt at a ski resort.

Operated from the early 1980s until roughly 2002 under a variety of owners, usually as a tax writeoff.

A concrete alpine slide was installed for a few years under the main chairlift to try and bring in summer visitors, but it was yanked out after a few years and a few personal injury lawsuits from people who careened into the woods.

  • It wasn't a Concrete alpine slide.
  • Skied here in the early 80's. Always at night. Trying to look up the vertical drop, which I thought was 160' Funny - my driveway literally has more vertical than that! We also skied paioli peaks, that had a verticle of 220', but were rarely open because they were much further south and there was never enough snow.
  • Remember Ski Starlite? The land is currently for sale. https://youtu.be/qpBk5QzpbQY
