The fixed side view cameras were constructed of reinforced concrete with metal-sheathed wooden doors and ports to protect against vandalism due to their proximity to Highway 39. Inside each station was a 70mm Mitchell motion picture camera, capable of filming the flight of a torpedo at 32 frames per second.
