Horseshoe Lake

USA / Ohio / Shaker Heights /

Also known as Upper Shaker Lake, it was created by a Shaker religious colony to provide water for a mill. It and Lower Shaker Lake to the west were given to Cleveland before Shaker Heights was created. The lakes and the park around them survived a plan to build an interstate through them in the 1960s.
