This complex houses the central executive offices, and Pyongyang-based personnel, of the Guard Command (also known as the Escort Bureau, Guard Bureau). The Guard Command is under the direct control of General-Secretary Kim Jong-il, and are charged with the personal security and domestic and logistical support, for Kim Jong-il, members of the Kim family and senior KWP and National Defense Commission secretaries and department directors. The Guard Command's stations and training facilities are dispersed throughout the DPRK (particularly near Kim Jong-il's residential complexes).
