This is very famous temple belonging to the Raja kula Agamudayar(Royal heirarchy )community of Aaviyoor , Arasakulam , Kirangakottai , ettu nazhi, palangantham , thirupparankundram , kulamangulam , Velangulam, pazhayanoor villages, This temple land is supposed to be received from King Thirumalai naicker who ruled madurai.

A.N Sethuramalinga Thevar Son of Narayana Samy Thevar ( past president of Kulamangulam ) is the thalai kattu ( head of the large family )but he has expired and even now it is one of the temples of biggest family group, Every year all the rajkula agamudyars from all these villages assemble and offer prayer for 10 days.

The heirarchy in Kulamangulam village ( Which is supposed to be the main village which contributes Ammanaadi ( The head priest ) Starts from Peyandi Thevar whose son Ammayappa thevar whose son Azhagiya perumal thevar Whose son Narayana samy Thevar whose son Sethuramalingathevar. After Sethuramalinga thevar the family divided in to several branches , how ever N.S.Ganesan the eldest son of Sethuramalingathevar lead the family and finally visited Amarnath and attained the footdom of lord shiva
