Aims of the declaration: Typical for The Ludogorie forest ecosystems.
The Beli Lom Reserve is one of the most interesting protected areas in North Bulgaria. It covers part of the valley of river Beli Lom that flows into river Rusenski Lom, the last right-side tributary of the Danube. The river Rusenski Lom and its own tributaries form a system of canyons with meanders, named Lomovete. That area includes two protected territories: Beli Lom Nature Reserve and Rusenski Lom Nature Park, surrounded by farmlands.
