Locust Creek is the only remaining covered bridge in Pocahontas County. In addition, the bridge has a Warren Double Intersection truss which is now rare in North America. The interior was completely rebuilt sometime after 1904. The bridge is no longer used for traffic because a new bridge was built beside it in 1990.
