Larson Lake is east of Talkeetna. It is a very peaceful and quiet setting with views of the Talkeetna Mountains to the north and Bald Mountain to the east. The lake and surrounding streams are known for their runs of sockeye (red) salmon and a variety of other species including rainbow trout and lake trout. Bear viewing at the nearby stream and around the lake is common.
Larson Lake is a fly-in lake. During the flight in, enjoy spectacular views of Mt. McKinley, its ramparts and glaciers, 50 miles to the northwest.
