Chaffey College, one of the first colleges to be established in California, is a two-year public community college. Its campus occupies 200 acres. Founded in 1883 as a private college, Chaffey has been a publicly funded college since 1916. The current main campus site in Rancho Cucamonga was built in the late 50's and served
5,200 students in 1964.

The state chancellor's office predicts that thy total enrollment at both Chaffey College campuses will be more than 24,000 students by the year 2010. The main campus is being expanded to meet the needs of a projected 20,000 students on the Chaffey College Main Campus.
