After the death of Professor Nenko Balkanski in 1977, Kazanlak Municipality restored his native house in order to commemorate his great contribution to the artistic culture of Bulgaria. In 1981 his wife, Lilyana Balkanska, donated to the Art Gallery 267 paintings and 1271 graphics and drawings of her husband. This was followed by the building of the exhibition hall in the restored house and in 1991 the native house exhibition was opened for visit. The exhibition contains selected works and is located in three rooms of the house, among which there are 13 works related to the house and the family, and on the ground floor there are 38 drawings and graphics. In the exhibition hall there are 55 works of Nenko Balkanski from different artistic periods. The native house of Prof. Nenko Balkanski is part of the Kazanlak Art Gallery.
