Housewright Music Building [HMU, Building 54] (Tallahassee, Florida)

USA / Florida / Tallahassee / Tallahassee, Florida / North Copeland Street, 122
 school, Florida State University (FSU)

The newer of the two main FSUSOM buildings, and is also in need of a renovation. The Housewright Building (commonly called by its abbreviation HMU) was constructed in 1979.

To avoid confusion with the rooms in the neighboring Kuersteiner Building, all of the rooms in HMU have "N" before it (i.e. one of the band room numbers is N114), which proabably stands for "New Building."

This building houses the Dohnanyi Recital Hall, named after the family of Hungarian composer and musician Ernst von Donanyi (Hungarian: Ernő Dohnányi), as well as the Warren D. Allen Music library, in the basement. The band rooms and offices are located in this building.

A skybridge on the second floor of HMU connects it with the second floor of the nearby Kuersteiner Music Building, or commonly called by its abbrieviation, KMU.

Named after a Dean of Music, Dr. Wiley Housewright.

HMU has two floors and a basement.
