This village has a hamlet called Kizhakkumedu at the end of the of the irrigation tank.Here is one elementary school.At the main village there are one elementary and one Higher Secondary Schools. At the hamlet there is an inscription of Early Chola period. At the compound of the Higher secondary School and opposite to it two Vijayanagar inscriptions were scribed. Opposite to higher Secondary school on the east face of a boulder Relief figures of Ganesa and Hanuman are seen. Now people of this village a mandapa in front of the above relief works.
