Number 16 Sofiiskaya Embankment is a two-story half basement mansion built in 1844 now occupied by a branch of MosEnergo, the Moscow Regional Administration of Power System. The All-Russia Congress of Soviets approved a plan for the electrificiation of Russia in December 1920. The electric company in Moscow is Mosenergosbyt - not only the oldest but also the largest energy supply company in Russia. Its customers include more than 136,000 organizations and more than 5.5 million residential consumers.
