The SAP Center at San Jose is the home of the San Jose Sharks of the National Hockey League.
It was constructed from 1991 to 1993 at a cost of $162,500,000.
The arena has a seating capacity of 17,500 with 68 luxury boxes and 3,000 club seats.

Originally named the San Jose Arena, it was renamed Compaq Center at San Jose in 2001 before a corporate purchase changed the name to the HP Pavilion at San Jose. In June 2013 the name was changed to it's current name. SAP's Chairman of the Board is also the Shark's Managing Partner.
The arena was also the home of the Golden State Warriors of the NBA (1996–1997), the San Jose Stealth of the NLL (2003–2009), the San Jose Grizzlies of the CISL (1994–1995), the San Jose Rhinos of RHI (1994–1997), and the San Jose Sabercats of the AFL (1995–2008, 2011– ).
Events hosted at the HP Pavilion include the U.S. Figure Skating Championships in 1996 and 2012, the 1997 NHL All-Star Game, the 1999 NCAA Women's Final Four, ArenaBowl XVI in 2002, WWE Royal Rumble in 1998, and WWE SummerSlam in 2001.
