  • Constructed and in use.
  • Unusual for single tower bridges the one tower is only one third the way across from the South end of the bridge instead of being centrally located. This is because the only place solid enough for the massive tower was on Sava Island. To keep the bridge balanced as it must be, the south one/third end was made of very heavy concrete and the North two/thirds end was a light weight steel framework. Thus the two asymmetrical sides were balanced.
