Al Khatouniah (Kurdish: Xatunê) is a village in pre-Civil War Hassakah Province. The village is just 9 km from the border with Iraq and 22km from Mount Sinjar. It is home to about a thousand arab villagers.

Over the 1930s, this area was inhabited by Ezidi Kurds, who practiced seasonal migrations from the Jariba Mountain over the arid plains until the Mount Abdulaziz.

The village is the traditional centre of the Arab Khawatinah tribe.

At 2 AM in the morning of 11 November 2015 the #SDF/YPG started a surprise attack on Khatuniyah. The town/village was fully liberated by this attack during the day
