Nyingma monastery. Originally Zangdhok Pelri Gompa. It was the main monastery of the exiled Dudjum Rinpoche (1904-1987), the patriarch of the Nyingma order, with once over 100 monks. The Cultural Revolution left this monastery completely destroyed. Restoration began in 1989 supervised by Dudjum Rinpoche's daughter Semo Dechen and her husband Chonyi Rinpoche. Now about 100 monks and nuns are living here again.
