The Demu Temple, built by the scripture teacher appointed by the first Pabala Living Buddha, was originally located in the pasture of Dongbacai Village under the source of the Lulang River (below the east side of the Sejila Pass). When the fourth Demu Living Buddha came to Beijing with the fifth Dalai Lama, the temple was destroyed by the Bobas' looting and burning. Later, the temple was moved to a small earth hill in the valley on the southeast side of Benri God Mountain in Mirui Township, south of the Demula Pass. It was destroyed by earthquakes, the Cultural Revolution and other reasons. The Demu Minghui Monastery is an important educational force of the Gelug Sect in southeast Tibet, especially between Gongbu, Popa and Pemagang. The current owner of Demu Temple is Mr. Demu Wangjiuduoji. He is the second son of the last (10th) Demu Living Buddha and is currently the chairman of the Tibetan Photographers Association. Mr. Demu Wangjiu Dorje has witnessed almost every important stage in the history of new Tibet. He is open-minded and makes friends all over the world. He has extensively studied traditional Tibetan culture, Han culture, Indian and Western culture. One of the few truly enlightened people with an international perspective. - Ge Maimao-
