The history of Booischot probably goes back to the Frankish period, in 726 the village was already indicated. Until the 19th century Booischot remained a hamlet of Heist.
In 1800 it became a separate parish, and in 1836 an independent municipality of Heist-op-den-Berg.
In the 19th century when the road “Aarschot –Lier” and the railroad “Antwerp –Aarschot” was built, the territory was cut in two. As a result, that on the South side of the road a new hamlet grew, called “Pijpelheide”.
In 1977 Booischot merged again with Heist.
