Lainici Monastery is located in the Jiu Valley.
"Bride of the Canyon", as it is called Lainici Monastery, is the place of pilgrimage each year for thousands of believers. It was built between 1812 - 1817, during the reign of John Voda Caragea. The church was renovated in 1984 and in 1990 began the building the new church. The monastery has a valuable art collection that contains icons, religious objects and books.
