Toretsk (formerly Shcherbynivka, and later Dzerzhynsk) is the administrative center of the Toretsk Urban Territorial Hromada (community) in the Bakhmut Raion (district) of the Donetsk Oblast (region) of Ukraine.

The city was founded in 1806, received the city status in 1936.
Population: 31,513 people (2021).
